The annual Minnesota Salsa Fiesta returns to Mill City Museum with a full evening of music, dance, food, and more outdoors in the iconic Ruin Courtyard and indoors in Mill Commons.
OUTDOORS enjoy live music and dance from 6 pm to 10 pm in the Ruin Courtyard with two stages built above the historic turbine pits. One stage will feature Cuban percussion star Yolanda ‘Yuya’ Rodriguez with a huge salsa orchestra of top Twin Cities talent. The second stage will showcase professional dancers and salsa team ensembles. A free salsa lesson will be offered as part of the evening’s festivities.
INDOORS attendees will be able to sample Latino food, beverage, and artisan vendors. Victor Yepez and Soluna Arts will decorate interiors with vibrant colors and visual art inspired by salsa music and dance.
Salsa Fiesta showcases a range of music, from raw rumba and classic danzón to modern timba. Experience the full sound of salsa with a 20-piece ensemble of horns, string section, coro singers, and overflowing percussion. Dance groups from area salsa studios will perform throughout the evening.
At 10 pm live music ends outdoors but the festivities continue indoors with DJ spinning salsa favs such as merengue, bachata and cumbia. DJ, dance, food, and festivities continue until this event ends at 11:30 pm. Admission to the After Party is included with the ticket to the main event and cannot be purchased separately.
