Matthias Well at Summer Arts LoungeAbout this EventLilian Akopova (piano) and Matthias Well (violin) have been performing together as a duo for many years. They gave their first concert in the Herkulessaal of the Munich Residenz. Since then, they have already won several prestigious international prizes and won over large audiences at numerous festivals with their broad repertoire of classical pieces. In their new project, the two exceptional musicians are now devoting themselves to the sophisticated interweaving of two musical genres: jazz as a source of inspiration for various classical compositions since the 20th century.This exciting mix can be heard on the album Jazzisimo, released in fall 2022, which received many reviews and was nominated for the Opus Klassik last year.Kiev-born pianist Lilian Akopova began her musical training at the age of six. Lilian Akopova has taken part in numerous international competitions. In 2010, she won first prize at the Vianna Da Motta International Piano Competition in Lisbon. She won further 1st prizes at the Carlet International Piano Competition in Valencia, the "Rome 2005" competition, the "Carlet" International Piano Competition in Valencia and the "Primo Premio Sulmona" in Italy.The Franco-German violinist Matthias Well was born in Munich in 1993, the son of Bavarian musician Michael Well, known for the music and cabaret group Biermösl Blosn. Under the sponsorship of Julia Fischer, he received the Fanny Mendelssohn Award in 2017, which enabled him to realize his debut CD Funeralissimo. The release was a remarkable success: it climbed into the top 20 of the German classical music charts.Matthias Well has performed as a soloist with members of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna International Orchestra and the Taurida International Symphony Orchestra from St. Petersburg, among others.Program -M.
