We present the first African dance formation in Malinke styles from Guinea Conakry in Amsterdam with the Argentine dancer, Rebecca Vega (resident in Malaga, Spain).

PROPOSAL:

The proposal is to delve into the dance techniques of Guinean styles during the course from January till May 2024, the meetings will be on Saturday and Sundays once a month.
CLASSES WILL BE WITH LIVE MUSIC
* Physical training (Pilates method, yoga)
* Body and spatial awareness
* Choreography (repetition method, ballet africains)
* Stretching and feedback of each meeting
* Recorded material to study in class (material will be shared through a private group)
* Classes are 2 hours and 30 minutes each day (is not possible do 1 single day)

*January 13/14 2024 - Dunumba Rhythm family (Traditional Malinke) Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

*February 10/11 2024 - Dunumba Rhythm Family-Ballet Style. Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

*March 16/17 2024 - Mendiani Rhythm (Traditional Malinke) Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

*April 6/7 2024 - Mendiani rhythm - Ballet Style. Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

*May 11/12 2024 - Kawa Rhythm-Ballet style. Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

REBECCA VEGA

Rebeca Vega is an Argentine dancer, producer and director of the international festival Mamiwata Fest, Percussionist specialized in Brazilian, Guinean and some Cuban styles.
She currently resides in Spain, in Malaga. She has a degree in classical ballet performer and senior classical dance teacher, with training in complementary dances (jazz, tango, Argentine folklore, tap dancing, Spanish dance). His first experience in Afro dance was with teacher Luis Roblejo (Cuba) residing in Argentina.
And she has made study trips to Brazil, and taken dance classes with Rosangela Silvestre and Vera Passos
She has danced the Guinean style from 2003 to the present and was trained in the Malinké (Guinean) style by Famoudou Konaté's famous daughters, Fanta and Fadima Konaté. In Guinea, she trains with Les merveilles de Guinee, and takes classes with artists, Aboubakar Camara, Bouba Kawa, Rokia Sano, among others.
Currently she has completed her Master's Degree in Sports Sciences. (Mention: Expert in Pilates Max Method, Yoga and Sports Coach).
Rebecca's research in dance science focuses specifically on female style with Afro origins
