Fusion Dance Workshop & Party

Dear dancers,

We are excited to invite you to the first Fusion party after a while ! 🤩 And we are thrilled to welcome The Musical Penguin from Brussels and Blake Boles from California US who will animate the dancefloor this evening after a workshop !

During the workshop, Blake will introduce you to the movements of microfusion dance: a subtle and intimate style of fusion dancing which you may not lift your feet for an entire song.

🌟 The DJ's 🌟
Blake is both a traveling writer and a passionate dancer with a specific taste for microfusion style and tango. California native, he travels now trough Europe with the world "Connection" in his mind, both in his lifestyle and dancestyle.

Cedric, also known as The Musical Penguin, draws on his experiences as a musician and composer to curate songs with distinct personalities, cinematic qualities and grooves that delight.
He came from lindy hop and blues seeking memorable connections on more diverse musics, and his sets aim to expand the breath of styles that we love to dance on.

💫 What is Fusion Dance ? 💫
Fusion is an improvised partner dance, where both the leader and the follower contribute their ideas to create a dance that is unique and imaginative. It can also be danced in a 'switch' style, where the roles of leader and follower change fluidly throughout the dance. Fusion draws concepts, figures, and rhythms from other partner dances such as tango, blues, forró and Latin dances.
Fusion can be danced to various types of music, including electronic music, soft melodies blending piano and vocals, or modern covers of well-known songs. Almost anything goes! Fusion events often bring together dancers with different backgrounds, allowing for improvised rules during the dance. Concurrently, fusion is developing its own movements and aesthetics, evolving dynamically.
