Forró a la Turca Festival

Forró a la Turca Festival is an international dance and music festival dedicated to Brazilian forró, held in Istanbul and organized by the Forró Istanbul community. The festival brings together renowned instructors, live bands, DJs, and dancers from around the world for several days of workshops, concerts, and social dancing.
Designed as both a learning platform and a cultural gathering, the festival offers participants the opportunity to deepen their dance practice, experience live Brazilian music, and connect with an international community that shares a passion for forró. Workshops led by leading artists are complemented by energetic evening parties and live performances that transform the city into a lively meeting point for the global forró scene.
First organized between 2017 and 2019, Forró a la Turca Festival quickly became a key event for the regional community, welcoming participants from Türkiye, Europe, and beyond. After a pause following the pandemic, the festival is returning with renewed energy to once again celebrate music, movement, and the spirit of connection that defines forró.
