Tango

Tango Sentimental are proud to be hosting Olivia Teixera and Fernando Lima for a mini-event in Birmingham!
Let's give them a warm welcome on their first tour of Europe and the UK. Don't miss your chance to learn from this fabulous, playful couple!
It is advisable to book both classes as they will compliment each other.

Olivia and Fernando are Brazilian tango teachers and artists, with a thirty-year career that claims several esteemed titles and awards. They currently live, teach and perform in Buenos Aires. They are founders of the EsTudo Tango method, based on the tripod of musicality, Physics’ vectors and Laban’s movement factors.
They are also producers of the EsTudo Tango International Congress in Buenos Aires and co-authors of the book “Themes of Argentine Tango - Argentina and Brazil.” You can find many of their acclaimed courses online under the names “Estudo Tango.” Olivia and Fernando have taught in over 40 cities throughout Brazil, Argentina, US and are making their debut in Europe this year.
They currently teach regularly every Sunday at the Tango Temple, the historic Marabú, where the emblematic orchestras of Aníbal Troilo and Rodolfo Biagi debuted, in 1937 and 1938, respectively.

Programme

Friday 20th September
7.30pm Class 1
Navigating the floor with rhythmic layers, Studying the characteristics of the Milonguero style, identifying the pauses and their adornments.
8.45pm Practica (Free for participants)

Saturday 21st September
6.15pm Class 2
Navigating the floor with melodic layers. Understanding the Salon style, the historical context, adjusting the reportoire and some tools to provide contrast between the different sections of the music. Using dynamics to express the song.

7.30pm Milonga including performance by Olivia and Fernando.

DJ for the evening will be Fernando.

Private lessons available on request over the weekend.
