For the purpose of spreading the love for and raising the interest of bachata (Dominicana). We believe that more people need bachata music and dance in their lives, they just don't know it yet! Viva la bachata ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ดโค๏ธ

Adam โ€˜Blanquito floโ€™

Adam grew up in LA to a family of musicians. He fell in love with latin dancing and particularly with Bachata in 2018, largely also inspired by several trips to South America and the Dominican Republic. Adamโ€™s bachata dancing is most influenced by the Batey and Las Terrenas regional styles, where continues to spend considerable time each year.

Dancing Bachata has been a form of therapy, an artistic outlet, and a conduit for meaningful friendships and community in his life. Adam teaches with the goal to help inspire confidence, creativity, and healing through movement.

Naida & Leo

Naida grew up in Gothenburg and has been dancing different dance styles since her late teens. The Brazilian rhythms caught her in 2013 and has performed in the Carnival in Rio and other festivals around Europe. She took her first bachata steps in the spring of 2020 when she fell in love with the down-to-earth and playful feeling of bachata that makes the heart skip a beat. She is passionate about amazing hip movement and loves the requinto guitar.

Leonardo was raised in Vรคxjรถ Sweden and has danced different dance styles such as salsa, samba, and merengue. Leonardo has also played percussion in different musical bands and has been on tour mostly in Sweden and some parts of Europe. Leonardo found bachata in the year of 2020 where he was captivated by this passionate dance where you were able to express your feelings through dance in a way never experienced before.

Naida and Leonardo have been teaching together since spring 2021 at Caliente Dance School in Gothenburg, where they wholeheartedly share the joy of dancing in an educational and structured way.

Agnessa Meiton

"I started dancing sensual (bachata) in 2018 in Gothenburg. During the pandemic I got a crush on real bachata and wanted to learn more. Through online classes and listening to a lot of bachata music I slowly changed. Visiting DR for the first time in 2023 changed everything. An understanding for the culture makes the difference when you dance. It hits you harder. In addition, the dance is fun, playful, romantic or sexy if you like. It can be fast or slow, basic or advanced, elegant or street, for old or young, but always with sentimiento. As a teacher I try to share this with my students and also dare everyone to move their hips a little bit more ๐Ÿ˜‰"

Carla Rojas Salazar

Carla is known for her amazing DJ skills and skillful footwork. She teaches Bachata at Havana de Vuelta and youโ€™ll find her on the dance floor or behind the DJ desk at most latin parties in Malmรถ.

Mette Larsen

Mette started teaching solo dancing in 2006. She fell in love with partner dancing in 2015 with Blues and Improvised partner dancing styles. She quickly found a love for Latin American dances when she first visited Cuba in 2016 and dove into Salsa and Rumba for a couple of years, until she met with Bachata and Merengue in the land of Origin in 2020. She has since then spent +7 months on the Islands, diving into the culture and dance communities.
Her classes focus on social dancing, personal style, connection, non-verbal conversation, and the cultural background and musicality of the dances. She is striving to make everyone feel comfortable, seen, and welcome when she includes her experience with Authentic Relating in her teaching method.
Currently, she is running Bachata Dominicana Copenhagen and took her teacher training from BachataDominicanaRD - a program approved by the Dominican Ministry of Culture.

Frank E

Frank E has danced and studied Caribbean partner dances for 26 years. Today he specializes in the Cuban dances Casino/Salsa, Son and Danzรณn/Bolero as well as the Dominican dances Bachata, Merengue, Son and Bolero. The point of focus in his classes is always authenticity, so you learn dance exactly as it's danced in the Caribbean.
