B2Z - The SF Zouk Experience! 🔥

B2Z Collective is excited to bring a premier Brazilian Zouk experience with eye-opening classes and our incredible DJ Team LIVE from Brazil! 🔥✨

We’ll begin the night with the talented and artistic duo Talita & Charles, leading us on a dive into zouk and beyond - this month were exploring all of the worlds that open up in Zouk when leading/following from a variety of unique Connections!

🪸 Dive Into Zouk! at 7pm, a FREE class for those who’d like to discover the world of zouk and those who’d like to refine their zouk foundations!

⚡ At 8pm, we’ll be turning up the energia with All Swim, a fun experience for everyone that will get our bodies moving!

🤿 At 8:15pm join us for the Deep Dive, where dancers from experienced levels to the most seasoned dancers come to explore ways to integrate and expand their ability to view and dance zouk at new heights!

All classes are semi-progressive, referencing previous concepts in the month but open to enter at anytime 🤓

🪩 Finally, we’re gonna party till midnight+ with our resident DJs LIVE from Brazil!! 🎧

About the venue:

📍The elegant Verdi Club in San Francisco — a gorgeous and iconic Art Deco venue, is conveniently located right off the freeway in between San Francisco’s Mission District and Potrero Hill. Street parking is more available and safer than most neighborhoods in SF. That said, we still recommend that you keep your valuables with you.

The B2Z Collective is a not-for-profit group that has a passion for Brazil and Brazilian Zouk, is rooted in the Bay Area, and embraces all of our Bay Area dance communities. We are values-driven and are committed to creating experiences that will elevate the essence of Brazilian Zouk and its roots from Brazil, experiences that contribute to the growth of Brazilian Zouk here in the Bay Area, and experiences that emphasize unity among our dance communities!

About the Artists:

Talita Mesquita

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Talita started her dance journey at 12 years old with belly dancing. She then went on to start dancing ballet and jazz when she was 14 years old. Talita started Brazilian Zouk in 2015 and was integrated into Rubia Frutuoso dance company in São Paulo (2015 - 2016). She further expanded into Contemporary and Lyrical Jazz from 2016-2018. Talita has been teaching Brazilian Zouk since 2019 in Philadelphia USA, contributing to the growth of the local Brazilian Zouk Scene. In 2022, Talita was integrated into Paulo and Luiza’s dance company. She has also trained lambada extensively with David/Deywylla, Ariel/Leticia, Leo Bruno, and Rhawann/Ingrid in Brazil. She's a multiple time BZDC Jack and Jill champion, currently competing in the Advanced JnJ division. Talita is excited to continue her dance journey with the San Francisco Zouk community!

Charles Onyeama

Charles comes from a background of over 15 years of solo/partner dance experience, including classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, salsa, bachata, kizomba, and Brazilian zouk/lambada. Having competed, performed, and created work alongside some of the biggest names across these disciplines, Charles is always focused on embodying the essence of each individual style, while using that language to bring something uniquely personal to whoever his dance touches. Charles aims to both inspire and unlock something profound through each encounter, whether it be performance, competition, choreography, instruction, or a shared moment on the dance floor. For Charles, every opportunity in dance is an opportunity of creation, both external, and internal. He's been a member of the Bay Area Latin dance communities for over 15 years and is passionate about uniting our dance communities and sharing the essence of Brazilian Zouk!
